Software Developer II (19-00658) – CA – South San Francisco

The gRED Business Operations team is looking for a Software Developer II to contribute to various projects across the portfolio. In this role you will work closely with the business leads and development team to ensure delivery of the overall portfolio. This candidate will be proactive, outgoing and detail-oriented with strong technical skills, excellent problem solving and written/verbal communication skills.
Accountable for development and configuration of custom applications to meet business requirements
Participates in project teams to help identify solutions and requirements for new functionalities and performing impact analysis
Work directly with software developers, technical architects and support personnel to define, document, and manage requirements
Builds and maintains good working relationships with the business leads and the user base to Informatics and business leads
Troubleshoot issues with production environments, escalating as needed to Engineering team
Support infrastructure maintenance and enhancement activities from an operational perspective
Support additional operational efforts as appropriate

4-6+ years of professional IT experience
Full stack web development with extensive front-end experience
Advanced knowledge of the LAMP stack, especially proficient knowledge of PHP 5 & 7: backend work and implementation (nice to have Experience with Xdebug)
Proficient in version control systems such as GIT (nice to have familiarity of GitFlow workflow)
Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, etc) and non-relational databases like MongoDB and REDIS
Proficient understanding of front-end markup, including HTML5 and CSS and SCSS
Proficient understanding of JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks, including AngularJS, React, jQuery and NPM (or Yarn)
Familiar understanding of responsive frameworks, including Bootstrap
Familiar in backend frameworks such as Symfony
Familiar with RESTful API development
Familiar with the WordPress platform and other open-source frameworks/CMS, and have experience developing custom themes and plugins
