Medical Information Specialist (19-00541) – NJ – Woodcliff Lake

Summary:
The Senior Medical Information Specialist is responsible for meeting the medical information needs of internal and external Company customers as it relates to the company’s products. He/she will contribute to the development of high-quality Medical Information deliverables within the team to meet Medical Affairs objectives.

This includes but is not limited to: 
• Leverage scientific expertise to develop and maintain medical information for Company products which meets the needs of Company’s internal and external customers 
• Support collaborations between Medical Information and other Company departments 
• Research and conduct detailed analyses of the scientific literature for Company marketed products, investigational compounds, competitor products/compounds, and related disease states. Contribute to communication, reporting and storage of findings 
• Support the development and update of SMRs and AMCP Formulary Dossiers for Company products in collaboration with manager and/or medical directors 
• Assist with the development and update of compendia strategies for Company products 
• Ensure medical accuracy of Company’s advertising and promotional materials as part of Copy Review Committee under supervision of manager 
• Ensure medical accuracy of Company’s scientific materials as part of Product Medical Review Committee under supervision of manager 
• Assist in the development and update of Sales Training materials, including product and disease state information 
• Contribute to reports on Medical Information activities to internal customers 
• Support pharmacy student projects as part of the Company Clerkship Programs 

1. Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients/consumers, field staff and other internal business partners, regarding Company marketed products, investigational compounds, clinical trials and other product information 20% of time 
2. Support medical information activities for assigned products, including developing and maintaining medical information resources, medical information launch plans, standard medical responses, Q & A documents, AMCP dossiers, and other materials. Monitor, analyze and communicate scientific literature. Create reports to communicate relevant information to colleagues and internal business partners. 40% of time 
3. Ensure medical accuracy of advertising, promotional and medical materials and designated materials on Copy Review Committee and Product Medical Review Committee under guidance of management 40% of time 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: 
• Biomedical training and education (PharmD) required 
• Superior customer service skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Superior literature database search skills 
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. regulatory standards related to pharmaceutical manufacturers’ communications and dissemination of medical information, clinical trial processes and drug approval processes. 
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry-based medical information or related discipline 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and customer management software
